CME announces Safety and Health Finalists

The Chamber of Minerals and Energy has announced the finalists in its annual Safety and Health Innovation Awards.

Ten finalists will compete for the top honours, which will be announced at the end of July.

The awards are open to all WA-based companies, operations and contractors and are intended to showcase the best in creativity and ingenuity with the goal of improving safety and health outcomes at all workpalces.

Amid the engineering category BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto Dampier Salt and Also of Australia have been named as finalists.

BGC Contracting, Fortescue Metals Group and BIS Industries have been named in the Systems category. There is also a “People” category in which Downer Mining, Rio Tinto Iron Ore and BGC Contracting have been named as finalists for various projects focusing on the safety of employees.

The finalists will present an overview of their programs to delegates at the CME Safety and Health Conference being held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27-28 July. View details of the finalists programs on the CME website.
