Mr Beament is a mining engineer with more than 19 years’ experience in the resource sector. Previously he held several senior management positions, including General Manager of Operations for Barminco Limited with overall responsibility for 12 mine sites across Western Australia, and General Manager of the Eloise Copper Mine in Queensland. Mr Beament is the current President of Western Australia School of Mines Graduate Association representing over 3,000 graduates.

Northern Star Resources is born and bred in WA. The company is on track to produce 550-600,000ozpa of gold from its five WA mines, at a forecast all-in sustaining cash cost of A$1050-$1100/oz.

Northern Star’s operations employ around 1,600 people and the company will pay royalties of around $20 million to the WA Government this financial year.

But perhaps even more importantly, Northern Star will spend $50 million on drilling and exploration in WA this financial year. This substantial commitment to finding more gold in WA comes at a time when Australia is digging up its minerals at a far greater rate than it is finding them. This extensive exploration campaign speaks volumes about Northern Star’s confidence in the prospectively of its projects.
