Ian Kerr is Business Growth Manager at Mintrex, where his key role is to develop existing
relationships and new opportunities to grow and improve the business. Ian also assists to shape
the scope of Mintrex’s projects, and ensure that any services delivered meet high standards.
Ian is driven to see projects and studies completed on time and on budget. One of his greatest
achievements with Mintrex to date has been the delivery of scoping and feasibility studies for
Sandfire Resources’ Degrussa copper project on budget and in the short time frame of 15 months.
He also recognises the importance of working in a dedicated team environment. Ian explains,
In 1994 I was appointed as Project Manager for the Osborne copper-gold mine project by Placer Dome,
and we were only able to deliver the project on budget and on schedule due to the strong synergy and
commitment of our team.”
Ian has recently joined the WA Mining Club. He has attended many Club events over the years as a
guest of other members, and finds significant value in the connections made with a wide cross section of the mining industry.
