With poverty levels as high as 800+ million people
living on less than US$2 a day in India (UNHDR 2008), the
need is as clear as the opportunity to do something about
it. “Opportunity is currently helping more than 2.8 million
people out of poverty around the world“, says Mr Clark. “With
increased assistance from mining companies operating in
developing countries, we can work together with them and
their employees to reach out to millions of other families in
need who call these communities home.”
