In 2011, the first outcome of
The Pilbara Project
was launched with the opening of ‘
52
Weeks On
’ –
an
exhibition of photographs and film by some of Australia’s
most respected photographic artists, accompanied by
a sell-out publication.
In continuing to promote the unique character of
the Pilbara on an international platform, FORM was
selected to be part of the official Australian Cultural
Festival programme in New Delhi, India. A selection of
photographs were displayed in November 2012 at the Lalit
Kala Akademi, India’s premier fine art institution, to a
local audience including distinguished guests, diplomats,
culture and industry leaders and the general public.
With its millennia of history, distinctive culture and
rich biodiversity, the Pilbara never fails to make a powerful
and lasting impression. As the second stage of
The Pilbara
Project
,
FORM has engaged leading photographers to
explore the ‘human capital’ which drives the region.
