Ramelius moves forward on multiple fronts

Achieving new gold production milestones
is nothing new for seasoned gold mining
specialist and Ramelius Resources Managing
Director, Ian Gordon. Ian has his eyes firmly
fixed on the latest main game for Ramelius
making the transition from a single gold
mine operator to a multiple mine owner and
producer across Western Australia’s proven
gold provinces.
The new milestone in sight for Ramelius
is for annual production to reach between
110,000
and 115,000 ounces of gold by
2016.
To date, Ramelius is ticking all of the
right boxes as it successfully meets the first-
time challenges of commissioning new gold
output across a platform of multiple mines,
and on a profitable basis.
The challenges include ensuring a smooth
exit from arguably one of Australia’s highest
grade gold mines; the remarkable if nuggety
Wattle Dam mine near Kambalda – an open
pit and underground operation now nearing
the end of a highly successful mining life
that began in 2006 and generated maiden
revenues for Ramelius.
Driving the Ramelius agenda for
transition from the single Wattle Dam
output to multiple mine status, is achieving
its target of a sustained increase in gold
production by 2014, then building to achieve
the 110,000 to 115,000 ounces per annum
target by 2016.
Even higher Ramelius milestones could
