The 2012 Metallurgy Scholarship has been awarded to
Anisa Mathews, a second year extractive metallurgy
student at Murdoch University. Anisa grew up in a
mining culture in the Copperbelt in Africa, which led
to her fascination for the earth and its minerals. Anisa
hopes to use her innovative nature to make a valuable
contribution to the mining industry.

The winner of the 2012 Environmental Engineering
Scholarship is second year student, Bohdan Davies.
Growing up in regional WA, Bohdan has developed
a passion for the outdoors and problem solving, and
enjoys hands-on activities. Bohdan looks forward to
pursuing his keen interest in the environment through
a successful career in the resource sector.

Kelly Campbell has been awarded one of two Geology
Scholarships for 2012. Having spent her childhood in
regional WA, Kelly’s enthusiasm for the natural sciences
started early and she is now undertaking a degree in
applied geology and environmental science. Kelly looks
forward to a career that involves both theoretical and
field work, particularly in a rural setting, and furthering
her interest in geology and environmental studies.

A 2012 Geology Scholarship has been awarded to
Samantha Murray. Coming from a mining-orientated
family from Broken Hill, NSW, Samantha is now
studying an applied geology and environmental biology
double degree at Curtin University. Samantha wants to
apply her attention to detail and conscientious approach
to the mineral exploration sector of the industry.

awarded to Jak Kuser. A dedicated and enthusiastic
second year student, Jak has a desire for problem
