The WA Mining Club Gala Ball is always the highlight of the year for members.
This year the champagne had some extra fizz, being a celebration of the Mining Club’s 50th Anniversary.
The sunset over the city bathed the Optus Stadium Sky View Lounge in shades of red and gold, a stunning backdrop to the night of fun ahead.
After sunset champagne and oysters on the roof, members were seated at tables that were decadently covered in rich gold and silver tablecloths with vintage candelabras adding to the glamour. The theme was gold, and many of the women enjoying themselves wore lavish gold and silver outfits, and they’ve got the pics from the photo booth to prove it.
The celebrations kicked off with a high-energy opening number which included that sultry, sexy dance of love; the tango.
Paul Martell was at his urbane best as the Master of Ceremonies and looked ready to do the tango or two himself.
Then a Tina Turner tribute act left more than 300 people hitting the dance floor before main course!
When Diamond Road took to the stage to play old hits and new, a swarm of people made for the dancefloor and got their boogie on until midnight.
The women looked like beautiful metallic butterflies as they flew around the floor, and nothing is more handsome than a man wearing black tie.
It was fun; it was dazzling, it was delicious.
The WA Mining Club gala balls never disappoints.
