NCI produces a quarterly Trade Credit Risk Index based on an aggregate of claims data,
collection activity and credit limit decisions. The Index is an invaluable tool for forecasting
and identifying trends in Australia’s trading climate.
Steve Thomas is State Manager WA/NT with NCI. He manages a service and sales team in each region who
look after clients as part of the NCI family, and actively grow the business.
Prior to joining NCI, Steve was actually a client of NCI, working in the steel industry and using NCI
products. After 10 years of being impressed by both the company and its products, he decided to join the
firm. “That was 13 years ago, and the rest is history,” says Steve.
When contemplating some of his career challenges, Steve considers a vitally important lesson to be how
to deal with people from all walks of life and to never take anything or anyone for granted. “Just be true
to yourself, honest and understanding, and all will then follow”, suggests Steve.
Steve joined the WA Mining Club about two years ago, after attending a Club lunch at which he was
impressed by the enthusiasm and passion for the resources industry by the people present.
