As Regional Sales Manager at Schneider Electric’s Industry Business Unit, Steve Meintjes leads a corporate
account management team; supported by solution architects, design engineers and partner relationship
managers. Responsible for all sales in the unit, he oversees the mining, metals and minerals sector.
After 30 years of leadership experience across diverse industries, Steve enjoys his portfolio at Schneider
immensely. The company provides leading edge solutions and services, and Steve finds a real affinity with
the firm’s collaborative culture and innovative leadership. “With the fair degree of autonomy, I have their
full support to deliver on Schneider’s strategies for our customers. It’s a win/win,” describes Steve.
A career highlight for Steve has been developing a formidable, tightly knit team of passionate sales
and engineering professionals who care about their customers as much as he does. “We have delivered
on our growth ambitions and successfully leveraged our acquisitions to provide pioneering solutions to
our customers”, he says.
Steve reflects that life has taught him to “Enjoy the journey, reflect on failings with a sense of learning and celebrate success with a
cocktail of humility, perspective and respect”. He believes in not taking oneself too seriously, and being empathetic to others.
Steve joined the WA Mining Club in 2012 and became active through regular monthly attendance, activities and event sponsorships.
He finds the networking and information sharing very insightful, and marvels at the attendee numbers at the monthly lunches.
