Rob Verheggen is Yokogawa’s Business Development Manager, WA Systems. He is responsible for developing
new opportunities for process control solutions on greenfield projects across process intensive industries
including mining (nickel, gold, uranium and magnetite iron ore), oil and gas, and power generation.
With technology and standards being constantly developed and improved, remaining proactive and dynamic
is critical when working with a high-technology company. This, combined with Rob’s prior experience within
process control, fits nicely within Yokogawa – a global leader in this field.
His biggest career lesson to date has been to ‘listen’ rather than ‘sell’, which Rob finds allows for a more
consultative approach and, more often than not, a superior fit-for-purpose solution for the client.
A member of the WA Mining Club for two years now, Rob attends most of the luncheons. He enjoys the
networking opportunities these events bring, and he values the opportunity to invite respected clients and
colleagues along to Club events.

Yokogawa Australia is a leading supplier
of industrial automation, instrumentation,
information systems, and test and
measurement equipment. The company
offers a total enterprise information system
from the factory floor to the boardroom,
enabling real time operations management.
Yokogawa offers optimum, realistic
solutions integrated with existing
client technology and requirements.
The company offers full ‘backward
compatibility’, so new hardware
or software can coexist with older
technology, and this allows customers
to migrate their systems in a flexible
and economical manner.
The long-time leader in distributed
control systems solutions, Yokogawa
is also the supplier of quality SCADA,
programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
and process control instrumentation.
Additionally, Yokogawa provides
consultin
g, systems configuration,
preventative and breakdown service
and training.
The company’s greatest strength
is the quality of its products, and
the commitment the company gives
to ensure its older products coexist
happily with its newer technology.
No older products get left behind.
Maintaining harmonious duality
is a theme within Yokogawa beyond its
service offerings. The company’s logo
(
shaped as a yellow diamond, standing
on its tip) conveys a blending of two of
Yokogawa’s key drivers: the acute angle
and sharp edges of the logo’s top half
symbolises the company’s cutting-edge
technology, while the gentle curvature
of the logo’s bottom half represents
the warm-hearted nature of its people.
With sales and service branches
in eight locations across Australia,
Yokogawa is well positioned to meet
the needs of its clients, most of whom
are involved in oil and gas, mining,
power generation and manufacturing.
