Silver Lake Resources listed on the Australian Stock
Exchange in November in 2007 with an initial public
offering (IPO) of $30 million. Today Silver Lake is an
ASX 200 company with a market capitalisation greater
than $850 million.
Silver Lake is a gold producing and exploration
company with a resource base of 4.5 million ounces in
highly prospective regions including the Mount Monger
and Murchison goldfield. Silver Lake’s strategy is to
develop large production centres at Mount Monger, in
the Murchison and the Great Southern region of WA,
with multiple mines at each centre.
Silver Lake has recently acquired the assets of
Phillips River Mining. This project is at an advanced
stage of exploration, and includes the large Kundip
and Munglinup exploration projects covering over
2,500
square kilometres. After ramp up of the Mount
Monger operations and development of the Murchison
project in 2013, Silver Lake will increase regional gold
exploration at Kundip with the view to establishing a
third gold mining centre.
In August 2012, Silver Lake announced a merger via
a scheme of arrangement with Integra Mining to create
a 400,000 ounce gold producing company by 2014. The
expanded Silver Lake will become one of the largest
domestic gold producers, and will be firmly entrenched
in the ASX 200 with a market capitalisation of over
$1 billion.
Silver Lake’s Managing Director Les Davis said “We
have achieved a lot for a company that is only five years
old. However, it is the future that is the most exciting.”
