g/t Au. Gold ore from Mount Monger is transported
to Silver Lake’s Lakewood gold processing facility
located five kilometres south east of Kalgoorlie and
45
kilometres from the Daisy Milano mine.
In December 2011, Stage 1 of a two stage expansion
of Lakewood gold processing facility was completed
on time and on budget, taking the processing capacity
to 700,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of hard rock.
Stage 2 is scheduled for completion by the end of 2012
and will increase throughput capacity to 1 million tpa
of blended rock.
Development of the Murchison project is well
underway and is scheduled to be in production in the
first quarter of 2013.
The Murchison has a current resource base of
1.9
million ounces of gold and has ore being sourced
from 14 open pit and 4 underground mines over an
initial 8 to 10 year period,” explained Mr Davis.
We are also very excited about a high grade copper
discovery that has been made at Hollandaire within
the Eelya Complex part of the Murchison project. This
deposit contains copper, gold and silver with grades up
to 45% Cu, 5.5 g/t Au and 256 g/t Au.”
Silver Lake has an ongoing commitment to the
communities in which they operate in and works to
enhance long term benefits to these regions. They are
currently the major sponsors of the Goldfields Children
Charity ball and the Goldfields Giants state basketball
team in the Goldfields.
In 2011 Silver Lake also proudly sponsored and
provided assistance with the coordination of the
inaugural Cue Outback Triathlon in the historical
Murchison township of Cue. The triathlon is now an
eagerly anticipated annual event.
It is with great excitement and energy that we move
Silver Lake into the future,” Mr Davis concluded.
