BP AUSTRALIA
BP Australia explores for, and produces
oil, natural gas, and liquefied natural gas.
It also refines, transports and markets
petroleum and lubricants products, trades
power and supplies solar products. BP
has built an excellent and long-standing
supply record in Australian industry, by
delivering innovative solutions to the
largest mining houses, and by keeping
transport companies moving all over
the country. BP’s capabilities include
advanced electronic administration
systems, experienced engineering teams,
high quality fuels products, technical
support and advice, a strong commitment
to health and safety processes, and a
leading supply and logistics position.
BP is the only company to have
refineries operating on both the east
and west coast of Australia, with the
WA production facility being the largest
in the country. Their refineries are
supported by a strong network of import
and inland terminals, all backed by a
leading integrated supply and trading
organisation. With 1,400 retail sites
across the nation, BP keeps over
40,000
businesses on the move daily.
The company provides innovative
solutions to organisations, from risk
management to sustainability programs.
In response to finding solutions to the
devastating petrol sniffing problem in
remote communities, BP developed a
low aromatic regular unleaded fuel
specially designed to discourage the
use of petrol as an inhalant. Opal fuel
has helped reduce petrol sniffing by
94%
in over 100 Australian communities.
Tanya Ghosn is BP’s Regional Sales Manager for Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory,
where her team manages the safe, efficient and timely supply of fuel to the company’s commercial customers.
BP’s Commercial Fuels division maintains close relationships with key mining, transport, industrial and
government customers in these regions.
Tanya enjoys working within BP’s dynamic and innovative corporate culture. She has relished the
opportunity to have worked in varying roles, and adding value to BP and its customers. “I have learned
a tremendous amount about business – both internal and external to the company”, she says.
One of Tanya’s greatest professional achievements with BP has been developing a one page brief
specification into a complex online customer operating portal system;
BP Plus.
The system gives clients the
ability to extract data and information relevant to their business, and it has been in operation with BP for
more than 10 years now.
Tanya has recently joined the WA Mining Club, and plans to attend future events. “I am keen to utilise the Club’s forums and networks
in order to better service mining clients and associated businesses in Western Australia”, Tanya says.
