Paul Yakas is Coogee Freight’s Managing Director; a role where he communicates with clients to ensure
their needs and expectations are understood. Paul then relays this information back to Coogee’s employees.

I believe good communication is the key to a successful and happy working environment”, reflects Paul.
Paul modestly describes his transformation from truck driver to establishing a flourishing transport
company as “pure fate”. He remembers that from its first day of operations, the company has focused on
providing a high standard of service and reliability. “Our motto ‘Your freight, we care’ is not just a catchy
statement, but a central statement leading all we do” said Paul.
Learning to balance running a successful business and retaining a healthy home life has been Paul’s
greatest career lesson to date. “If we can manage to find a happy medium between work and family life,
then life moves along on auto pilot”.
Paul has been a WAMC member for about three years. He enjoys attending Club events to learn from other
members about different aspects of the mining industry, and keep abreast of the latest developments.

Coogee Freight has a large range of
transport equipment to complete any
task. The company’s fleet consists of
well-maintained prime movers with
an extensive range of trailers, all
operating in accordance with
Main Roads WA’s Heavy Vehicle
Accreditation scheme. It specialises
in general freight, over dimensional
loads, construction and machinery
transport, and can supply road trains
and extendable trailers as well as
accredited pilots.
Coogee Freight’s experienced
staff are trained in load restraint
and industry safety standards, and
the company also uses a number
of full-time subcontractors, who are
suitably reliable and committed to
freight care and customer requirements.
