Deloitte established the Australia-Africa Services Group (AASG) over four years ago to keep up
with the growing need for professional services firms with specialist knowledge in Africa.
Jacques van Rhyn is Partner - International Tax and Transfer Pricing at Deloitte, and he also leads the
Australia-Africa Service Group. He assists multinational companies with cross border tax matters like
setting up investment structures, business reorganisations and IP issues when investing abroad, especially
with complex transfer pricing matters in the resources industry.
International tax and transfer pricing requires professionals to be innovative and understand new ways of
doing business, and his skill set ensures a good fit within this culture. Jacques doesn’t just strive to stay
ahead in the transfer pricing field – as a keen cyclist, he has competed in various amateur cycle races.
Jacques believes that a lesson worth sharing is to treat all people with respect, for you never know where
and when your paths may cross again.
Having attended many WA Mining Club events as a guest, Jacques recently become a member. He finds
obtaining firsthand feedback from company executives very beneficial.
