Fortescue Metals Group recently
awarded Easternwell a three-year
dewatering contract to drill and
construct over 600 dewatering bores
at Fortescue’s Cloudbreak minesite.

Billiton, Atlas Iron, Newcrest Mining,
Newmont and Iron Ore Holdings.

business publicly listed in Australia
and operating globally in the resources,
energy, industrial, infrastructure,
property and defence sectors.
Chris Brophy is Easternwell’s Commercial Manager – Minerals, responsible for identifying and developing
business opportunities, and profitably managing projects and contracts, from inception to completion.
Chris could spend one day outlining the beginnings of a project, and the next negotiating contracts and
analysing financial figures.
Chris believes that in business your approach to dealing with people should be marked by courtesy,
composure and candour. He has witnessed the drilling market become very dynamic due to increased
competition and economic highs and lows, but such challenges keep Chris stretched. He thrives on the
constant improvements and lessons that come with being kept on his toes and in a learning environment.
One of Chris’ career highlights is being part of a team that has navigated the business through the significant
changes of multiple mergers, and finally seeing the fruits of the team’s labour through the negotiation of
a service agreement where Easternwell will provide rigs for the largest dewatering program in the Pilbara.
A member of the WA Mining Club for six months, Chris enjoys the opportunity membership provides to network with other industry leaders.
