Genstar is giving back to the Western Australian community through
charitable support of the new Ronald McDonald House and Foodbank.
Mike Hebden is a founding Director of Genstar, where he oversees the strategic and operational
responsibilities of financial planning and accounting, sales, administration and client liaison.
With 25 years in rental and sales industry, including 20 years directly in power generation equipment,
Mike has strong credentials for running a highly successful power generation company. He remains
justifiably proud of Genstar’s record – from start up to five branches with a statewide operation in
Western Australia and a new facility in Queensland in just eight years.
Mike’s substantial experience to date has led him to conclude that his greatest lesson in his professional
life to date has been to remain strong and consistent at all times wherever possible, and to use his ears
before using his mouth!
Mike was first a member of the WA Mining Club as early as the mid 90’s, but it was his close
involvement in organising the St Barbara’s Day Parade in Perth in 2003 that saw Mike’s closer association
with the Club develop and continue to this day. Mike has also spent six years on the Committee in the roles
of committee member, Vice President and Treasurer.

Genstar Hire and Sales is a privately
owned and operated power generation
company led from Perth with five
strategic service and support centres
located across Australia (Perth,
Karratha, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton and
Brisbane). From these strategic branch
locations, Genstar can reach clients and
respond efficiently to the challenges
that temporary and remote power
requirements bring.
Using branded equipment built to
company specifications, the quality
of Genstar’s equipment surpasses that
of the usual off-the-shelf generators.
All generators are self-bunded and
considered to be ‘mine spec’, and use
engines by Cummins or Perkins,
Stamford or Leroy Somer alternators
and ComAp IntelliGen
NT
controller units,
which are widely recognised as being
powerful yet user-friendly.
The company currently employs
45
staff and have dedicated teams of
specialised generator technicians
trained to mechanical and electrical
safety qualifications. With a number
of mobile service vehicles in operation,
technicians can provide service and
support throughout the state, at any time,
all year round.
Genstar have undertaken a number
of projects across WA from Argyle
and Koolan Island in the north to
Norseman in the south, and many
points in between, and have assisted
with applications in the areas of
mining, oil and gas, civil works, events,
agriculture, dewatering and shipping.
