In 2013 Chambers and Partners recognised Hunt & Humphry in the Top 20 law firms
in the area of Australian energy and resources, and in the Top 10 for native title matters.
As Partner/Principal at Hunt & Humphry, Conrad Marais manages client relationships, advises clients and
manages workflow and firm administration.
The company’s focus on making projects happen by providing technically correct but pragmatic and
commercial legal advice cost effectively is something that strikes a chord with Conrad.
Although not as large as Australia’s global and national law firms, Hunt & Humphry has worked on some
of the nation’s most significant projects for some of the world’s largest infrastructure, resource and energy
developers. At the same time, the company has continued to represent junior and smaller clients as
attentively as larger ones. Conrad is proud of the firm’s ability to deliver “big firm” technical experience in a
cost effective and dedicated manner to developers and operators of all needs, sizes and stages of development.
He considers technical prowess in a profession of key importance, although that should never prevent finding
commercial solutions to problems.
A member of the WA Mining Club since early 2013, Conrad enjoys learning from other professional members involved in the industry
for longer than he has been. “History teaches us a lot about today”, says Conrad.
