ICRG
improving cultural connections through active engagement
Indigenous Construction Resource Group
(
ICRG) is an indigenous focused mining
services company, working closely with
regional Aboriginal communities and
with an extensive indigenous labour
network across Australia. The group
currently employs 78 people, of which
61%
are indigenous Australians.
ICRG Logistics, a business unit within
ICRG, is the first Aboriginal owned global
logistics company based in Australia.
It was created from the need for a high
quality logistics company providing
indigenous Australians with opportunities
to learn and understand international
logistics. The company focuses on logistic
solutions for the mining sector, vessel
chartering and over-dimensional trucking
to remote mining locations, and support
to the oil and gas industry providing pipe
transportation and consolidation facilities.
The team delivers operational excellence,
and closely follows the parent company’s
ethical approach by striving to transform
opportunities for Aboriginal workers.
ICRG operates globally with strategic
partners in USA, Asia and Europe, and
customers include Fortescue Metals
Group, Heavy Haul Track System and
Jebsens Coastal shipping. It also provides
domestic freight services to a number of
Australian companies.
With a positive forecast for future
growth and strong interest from high
profile mining companies, ICRG has
ambitious targets to train and mentor
indigenous Australians in the field of
international logistics. In partnering
with ICRG, companies do more than just
develop a resource project – they provide
life-changing opportunities to indigenous
communities throughout Australia.

With its corporate conscience, ICRG believes in giving back to the community to improve cultural
connections, and is actively engaged in the community arts space and supports indigenous talent.
As Director, ICRG Logistics, Mundi Puvanendran ensures that ICRG is true to its principles by continually
seeking opportunities for indigenous Australians. The company proudly provides hands-on, high quality
service, and aims, as a logistics provider, to become a trusted partner to its customers. “I believe if I stick
to these basic principles, ICRG will be commercially successful”, says Mundi, whose passion for indigenous
opportunities and equality is matched by his keen interest in logistics.
Mundi has negotiated and managed multi-million dollar transport contracts for major miners including
Rio Tinto and FMG. His greatest achievement with ICRG to date is securing a significant contract with a
high profile iron ore mining company, and establishing a strong working partnership with customer
Heavy Haul Track Systems.
He believes that if you provide good old-fashioned service, everything else falls into place. For Mundi
service should be today’s main focus, rather than profit as is often the case in today’s business environment.
Mundi has been a WAMC member for approximately three years, and finds it a great networking forum.
