MDR CERTIFICATION ENGINEERS
MDR Certification Engineers specialises
in providing independent third party
consultation services for quality
assurance and statutory compliance
to Australian Standards laws and
regulations. Registered in 2001, MDR
initially responded to the requirement
for quality assurance and inspection in
the oil and gas industry.
The company has now grown to
incorporate the quality assurance
demands in the mining, construction,
fabrication and preventative maintenance
market sectors throughout Australasia.
The company offers services and
support for the testing and inspection
of materials and products, and
management of asset integrity. Services
include third party quality assurance
and inspection, QA management,
fabrication inspection, NDT testing
and certification, compliance inspection,
American Petroleum Institute
Engineering assessments and the
inspection of bulk oil storage tanks,
pipelines and facilities.
MDR provides third party inspection
services throughout Australia, New
Zealand and across Asia. Their client
list includes BHP Billiton, Delkor Global
and Phillips Petroleum.
MDR team members are willing to
assist in any task, menial or otherwise,
and this approach starts from the
Managing Director down. The company
has a view that all staff are on a level
playing field. MDR’s small team is
service focused, adaptive to market
change and highly skilled.

MDR Certification Engineers is proud to be associated with community projects and is actively involved in supporting
the Royal Flying Doctors Service’s Flying 1000 program in Western Australia and The Make a Wish Foundation.
Gary Holder is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at MDR Certification Engineers. As such, he
manages the day-to-day affairs of the company, secures new contracts and clients, and aims to stay ahead
of multinational competitors.
Under Gary’s stewardship, the company continues to successfully secure business based on its professional
capabilities, rather than competing on price factors. For example, MDR has tendered for projects with
BHP Billiton, Coogee Chemicals and Tronox, to name a few, and has succeeded on the basis of the company’s
innovation, service and technical knowledge, rather than on price.
One of the most important lessons Gary has learned concerns when managing people; not to be impressed
only by an applicant’s resume. “I look for potential staff who have an attitude that is likely to be consistent and
in line with our company’s image and culture – the qualifications can be achieved later if need be”, says Gary.
Gary joined the WA Mining Club recently, after browsing through
Minesite
at one of their client’s offices and
being impressed by the journal. Gary and his team look forward to future networking opportunities at Club events and via its publications.
We look forward to introducing ourselves to companies that require assistance with compliance issues”, explains Gary.
