ROPS Engineering can ensure vehicles comply with all manner of work site requirements, from
ROPS to FOPS, to electrical, fire suppression, vehicle modifications, handrails and access etc.
As Director at ROPS Engineering, Joe Dickinson sources new projects as well as managing the flow-through
of existing projects, including design and drafting, engineered testing and certification, and final installation
and delivery to clients all around Australia.
Joe enjoys the one-on-one consideration that the company gives to its external customers and to its internal
dealings also. “Being family owned and run means we still encourage personal courtesy, and this attention
really helps when making decisions or changes to get a job out sooner”, explains Joe. Whilst Joe regards the
acquisition of every new customer as a worthy achievement, he recalls as particularly noteworthy securing
an order to supply a remote exploration company with four custom-built mine specification support vehicles.
Pondering his greatest professional lesson, Joe defers to the wisdom of Theodore Roosevelt, who advised, ‘The
best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint
to keep from meddling with them while they do it’. For Joe, this translates to, “Trust your employees; you employed them”.
A WAMC member for three years, Joe gains much value from the Club’s exchange of ideas and the interesting speakers.
